Presidential Hsing Chien Award

Presented by National Tsing Hua University in recognition of outstanding achievements in extracurricular activities.

Based on computer science, art skills, competition experience, and art achievements mentioned above, I was picked as one of the 17 Presidential Hsing Chien Awards, National Tsing Hua University students who actively engaged in extracurricular activities and gained remarkable achievement.

Yi-Cheng Hsiao, a senior in the Department of Computer Science, is an outstanding representative of a cross-disciplinary field, with interests spanning from computer technology to art. He was a member of the Tsing Hua University Student Cluster Competition Team that participated in the International Supercomputer Competition and won the second prize in the 2020 Asia Pacific Computing AI Competition, which also included teams from Tsinghua University in Beijing and Nanyang Technology University in Singapore. He also was a student coach and led the team to win ASC 20-21 championship. In 2020, he held a solo exhibition "Wake Up" at Tsing Hua Art Center. He said, "Many performances are not always shown on the academic score, but I am grateful to the school for using this award to encourage us to explore ourselves so that we are more willing to try activities outside of our studies.
